Our song of the week this week is the beautiful Feel Away by Slowthai, featuring James Blake & Mount Kimbie.

Slowthai takes on a softer style as he contemplates on the breakdown of a relationship, wondering what went wrong and who was responsible. He raps over a toned down piano loop and a beat that only kicks in a minute into the song, joined by James Blake’s smooth and distinctive vocals for the bridge and second verse.

The song is heartfelt as they reflect on doubting themselves and their partners, admitting to not being “half the man [they] used to be” and eventually concluding that “it’s not you, so it must be me”. Slowthai himself says it’s about putting yourselves in others shoes, so that you can better understand a situation. The song will be featured on Slowthai’s upcoming album 'Tyron', released February 12th of this year.
